Whether I was busy decorating my room, making scrapbooks, or taking pictures with disposable cameras my parents bought for me, I have instinctively been drawn to visual design my whole life. Fast forward to being 20 and studying photography in college, I got a job in a restaurant serving (as many young people do). I just never stopped. Engaging with people, learning, and curating an experience was something I found myself enjoying, even though it was out of necessity.
I also continued to focus on photography and started an independent photo-book publication to put out my work alongside other visual artists. Collaborating with others to design a product that represented their vision over my own was something I found deep satisfaction in.
Like so many people, my life was shook when Covid hit, but I took the situation and turned it into an opportunity to further my education by learning UX Design. Being able to create great experiences by coming up with creative solutions is something that I love to do and have spent years implementing in other facets. One of the things I love most about UX Design is that empathy drives every aspect of the process. Learning new ways to help people is something I am fortunate enough to do everyday as a UX Designer.
